CBI BUSTS A GANG ALLEGEDLY INDULGING IN CHEATING & MANIPULATION DURING A POST- GRADUATE MEDICAL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION AND RECOVERS SOPHISTICATED EQUIPMENTS DURING SEARCHES

The Central Bureau of Investigation has busted a gang which was allegedly indulging in & facilitating cheating, copying and manipulation in the entrance test of Post Graduate Courses in PGI, Chandigarh.
Based on source information, a surprise check was conducted by CBI in the examination centers in Chandigarh. It was found that some women were using sophisticated equipments like camera, phones, bluetooth and they were transmitting the question paper outside, using internet facility.
Searches were also conducted in certain hotels. Seven male persons who were allegedly receiving the images outside and co-ordinating the operation were found. It was revealed that these persons were getting the paper solved through experts based in Patna and Hyderabad and again communicating the answers to candidates inside using blue tooth devices, micro ear phones and sophisticated mobiles.
The experts located in Patna and Hyderabad, are also being probed by the CBI in a synchronized operation.
Laptops, micro earphones, sophisticated mobile phones, blue tooth devices, SIM cards, special clothes fitted with sophisticated devices inside, button-hole cameras, tablet computer, wireless ear plugs, medical books, electric solders, fitting equipments, ATM cards and cash etc. were recovered in searches.
The Preliminary information acquired so far that the gang had allegedly been involved in a number of similar rackets pertaining to national level entrance examinations earlier is also under probe.
